The biggest event of the summer is here as the WWE Universe takes over the Staples Center in Los Angeles once again for the 26th annual SummerSlam! Can the underdog Daniel Bryan dethrone 11 time WWE Champion John Cena and win his first ever WWE Championship? Paul Heyman guys, CM Punk and Brock Lesnar collide as The Best takes on The Beast! After suffering several attacks at the hands of the menacing Wyatt family The Devil’s Favorite Demon, Kane, has his chance to get even as he takes on Bray Wyatt in the menacing Ring of Fire match!

The DVD kicks off with a ring of fire match where the whole ring is surrounded by well…

you guessed it ! FIRE ! To be honest thats the only highlight of the entire match as the line up between Kane and Bray Wyatt is poor beyond all reasonable measure. I really hope Bray doesn’t stay long in the WWE because he has no talent of any kind and it was frustrating to watch such a poor athlete in the opening match.

Once again Alberto Del Rio and his over-rated presence enters the ring against an athletic Christian, Christian put on a great show of determination and technical ability but the matches so far are still lacking any quality what so ever.

But now here’s the good stuff as Summerslam is featuring a double main event of John Cena vs. Daniel Bryan for the WWE Championship and “The Best vs. The Beast” in CM Punk vs. Brock Lesnar. Both matches did not disappoint.

CM Punks match with Brock Lesnar is an attribute to how talented both of these guys are and it was a real slobber knocker of brains vs brawn. The highlight for me throughout the match being a low blow that CM gives to Brock where he can be heard saying “Where is your cup now, UFC boy!” which I thought was hilarious ! Check out a press conference below with CM Punk talking ahead of the match with Brock.

Finally the main event, John Cena Vs Daniel Bryan for the WWE Championship with Triple H as the referee, Now personally for me Daniel Bryan isn’t exactly what anyone would call a champion so seeing him toe to toe with John Cena took a lot of getting used to. But Daniel did impress me with his agility, his fitness and his technical submissions.  An amazing twist follows at the end of the match which confirms not only for me but for the fans that WWE doesn’t see Daniel Bryan as much of a company figure either. Move aside Daniel there’s a new kid on the block.

Hats off to WWE for spoiling the outcome of the match for those who didn’t watch the PPV with their genius Summerslam front cover !
