All the action from the Izod Centre New Jersey, where John Cena continues his feud with the Wyatt Family taking on Bray in a steel cage match. Evolution take on the The Shield in the battle of the the old and new factions and Kane goes back behind the mask to challenge Daniel Bryan for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, plus much more, the Blu-Ray version will contain at least 70 minutes of extras.
So its that’s that time again in the WWE calender, Extreme Rules ! Light the torches, break out the slobber knockers and brawls, its chaos time !
Triple Threat Elimination Match: Rob Van Dam vs. Cesaro vs. Jack Swagger
Two-On-One Handicap Match: Xavier Woods & R-Truth vs. Alexander Rusev
WWE Intercontinental Championship Match: Big E vs. Bad News Barrett
Six-Man Tag Team Match: The Shield vs. Evolution
Steel Cage Match: John Cena vs. Bray Wyatt
WWE Divas Championship Match: Paige vs. Tamina Snuka
Extreme Rules Match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship: Daniel Bryan vs. Kane
Looking through the line up of matches the ones I’m looking forward to the most for the obvious reasons are The Sheild Vs Evolution, that match on paper is already making my mouth drool. John Cena Vs Bray Wyatt will also be an interesting one, will John finally turn to the dark side? I personally hope not as I don’t rate the Wyatt family, I love their persona and the mystique but its all been done before, its nothing original.
The headline matchup between Daniel Bryan and Kane should be a fun one if the DVD cover is anything to go by and Paige, we love Paige, she IS really representing the UK in the WWE and its great to see !
The usual matches kick start to a very slow pace nothing really shines other than a Rob Van Damme five star frog splash off the top rope onto a strategically placed trash can lying on Cesaro’s chest. Apart from that I’m just thinking hurry up Evolution !
So three matches later and here it is, Sheild Vs Evolution and the match doesn’t disappoint, high flying Superman punches, finishing moves, fighting outside of the ring, some crazy stunts on concrete, yes concrete not mats, and an amazing match up which has the crowd chanting ‘This is Awesome’ in unison followed by ‘Holy Shit’ throughout the entire matchup. I do however despise the crowd’s reaction to Batista, give the guy a break, its actually pathetic to see that people judge him for leaving the WWE yet when the Rock did it people welcomed him back with open arms. The same should apply really, obviously people have short memories of what Batista has achieved throughout his career.
The Steel Cage match between Cena and Bray Wyatt was a fantastic match but was very poorly executed in terms of a certain lag between actions, Cena could of easily escaped the cage numerous times but for the bad cue acting of the Wyatts it was all slow motion escapes with unrealistic results. Disappointed with the lack of communication in this match up, and with the freaky kid at the end, what the hell is all that about. Cena don’t turn to the dark side no matter what, you have talent, keep at it !
The Extreme Rules match blew my tiny little mind, outside of the ring, kendo sticks, chairs, forklifts… (yes forklifts), flaming tables and much more, this match was fantastic and a fitting end to quite a great pay per view.
Much better than the 2013 Extreme Rules, we loved the matches, Paige put in a terrific performance, the right outcomes were executed throughout bar the Cena match and it was fun to watch.
