We’ve all had those films where we turn them on, or go to see them at the cinema and within 10 minutes we want to escape, turn the TV off or praying the projector breaks. Well here’s a little soother for the nerves.
There are hundreds of films out there which you can watch over and over and over again and never get bored. You’ll laugh in the same places, cry in the same places and be sucked into the moment over and over again as thou it was your first time viewing. I have chosen just five out of the hundreds that I know I can watch over and over again. So here goes:
5 Films You Can Watch Multiple Times and Never Get Bored
Made in 1980 Airplane! is one of those laugh out loud comedies that will never go out of style. A perfect parody of a disaster movie with lines so perfect, they are still repeated even to this very day. In 2008, Airplane! was selected by Empire magazine as one of The 500 Greatest Movies of All Time and in 2012 was voted number one in The 50 Funniest Comedies Ever poll. “This woman has to be taken to a hospital” “A hospital? What is it?” “It’s a big building with patients, but that’s not important right now”. Lines like that will crack me up for years to come.
The Fifth Element
Everything about The Fifth Element is just perfection. The intricate design, the balance of comedy, action, science fiction and more. Mila Jovovich as the beautiful LeeLoo and one of Bruce Willis’s finest performances. Throw in Chris Tucker as the comedy relief and you have a movie that the second it finishes, you can rewind and start again. Luc Besson created a masterpiece but I somehow feel that Valerian won’t have the same impact. Already it looks rather cliche’ and seems to have taken heavy influence from a certain James Cameron movie.
Back to the Future
Of course I’m going to add this baby onto my list. If not, I would have to change the site name and forget everything that’s right with the world! Robert Zemickis Back to the Future is one of the greatest movies of all time. The comedy, the action, the set up, the look, the iconic moments, props and characters. The list is endless to the point where I need to wait for the future, travel back in time and continue reeling off the list of it’s stand out awesomeness.
Wolf of Wall Street
Maybe it’s the hookers, the parties, the one liners, the mind blowing performance of Leonardo DiCaprio but The Wolf of Wall Street is just. Incredible. I love this movie so much I had to buy it again on Blu Ray, just because once wasn’t enough. It’s certain up there with Martin Scorsese’s best movies and doesn’t look or feel out of place. This movie takes you on a wacky adventure and each and every time it never fails to bore me. You have to remember The Wolf of Wall Street is a three hour movie, if you don’t get bored watching a film for three hours then you know it’s damn special.
You’d think I would be exploring my feminine side with this one but the simple fact is, Mean Girls is a great movie. Yes it may look out of place with the competition above but as a standalone film of choice you can’t go far wrong. It relates to every single audience I can think of and I haven’t met one person in my entire life who hates the film, male or female. You go Glen Coco!
