To commemorate our partnership with the magazine.co.uk Blogger Network we were presented with the latest issue of Empire magazine dated July 2015. This edition of Empire is a superhero special focusing on Ant-Man the movie complete with a limited edition collectors cover.
The cover feature story goes into great depths about the trials and tribulations of starting another Marvel movie that is cast instantly in the shadow of the record-breaking Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Director Peyton Reed discusses script problems, the long development of the movie, the ups and downs of getting it green lit whilst somehow still trying to remain optimistic throughout this entire process.
With a stellar ensemble of Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly and Michael Douglas it’s hard to see this film letting down the Marvel franchise, everyone doubted Guardians of the Galaxy but with the Midas touch that Marvel studios seem to possess at the moment, we have every confidence that the little man will conjure big reward.
With some great features on the Marvel cinematic universe tied into potential comic book to film adaptations this piece compliments the Ant-Man cover story nicely.
The magazine is wrapped with up with some great interviews with Channing Tatum and Alexandra Daddario but there is one feature that stands out amongst the rest, the Rick Baker auction.
Now for those who haven’t seen our Rick Baker Auction coverage please go and check it out, but to see it in all of it’s glory in Empire magazine is fantastic. The magazines six page feature showcases props from Men in Black, Bigfoot and the Hendersons, The Wolfman and Planet of the Apes all of which are available to bid on throughout the duration of the auction with prices ranging from $100 to $50,000+ there are items for every style of collector on any budget.
