Tackling the difficulties of disease within a marriage, the short drama, Muscle, has its World Premiere at Greenwich Film Festival on Thursday June 9th & 12th 2016 and NY Premier at The Soho International Film Festival June 11th 2016. Executive Produced by legendary filmmaker Frank Oz, among others listed below, the movie follows Amanda (Fiona Graham) as she takes care of her bedridden husband Craig (Marc Menchaca), ever closer to death. But the past creeps back in, and soon Amanda realizes she must meet with Suzie, played by Reiko Aylesworth (24, Lost, Hawaii Five-0).
Fiona Graham originally from London is slowly rising to fame in New York’s indie film scene. Acting and Producing Fiona is experiencing life infront and behind the camera.
Nominated Best Actress at 2015 Wordfest for her role in Elsewhere NY, Fiona Graham’s career, both on stage and screen, has seen her perform in London, Berlin, Rome, Tbilisi and New York. Originally from the UK, her films have played globally including, Festival De Cannes, Cinequest, Edinburgh Film Festival and Whistler Film Festival. Fiona also works as an acting coach alongside Susan Batson and has worked on Broadway’s Jekyll and hyde and the Tony Award Winning Broadway show, An American in Paris, and the Emmy nominated TV show Empire. Film credits include: Noise, Luna Park, Jack Rabbit, Looking For Kathleen, Living With Mum and Flea (directed by BAFTA nominated director Dan Hartley).
Directed by Heidi Miami Marshall, working from a screenplay by Tom Wilton, it’s a complex, layered drama with a twist. Oz cites Marshall’s “mature grasp of cinematic storytelling” as key, and notes her ability to reveal information “only when it’s needed”.
He continues; “This was her vision she’d expressed to me when I’d first read the script and she has stood by her vision to the very last frame of this sublime film.”
