So I’ve been talking about this none stop since the Oscars!

Worldwide journalists reporting that The Revenant Director Alejandro González Iñárritu did not clap Jenny Beavan on her Mad Max: Fury Road costume design award when she walked towards stage.

For one, the camera footage used in most of these reports seemed to cut in at every point where Alejandro wasn’t clapping but today In a statement issued to the Guardian on Thursday, Iñárritu called such speculation “mean-spirited and false” and we couldn’t agree with him more.

If your media outlet is reporting a true story and Alejandro didn’t clap what so ever, then fair enough, a good story and question to pose to the man himself. But to cut footage of the event short to hide the truth, is shady, very shady indeed.

Alejandro commented with the following and even posted a GIF to prove the doubters wrong.

“I think Jenny Beavan is a masterful costume designer and very deserving of the Oscar for Mad Max: Fury Road”.
