Hell in the Cell 2014 Review

HIAC_2014_BD_2DOn DVD & Blu-Ray from Monday 19th Jan. 2015

All the action from Dallas as WWE most notorious feud settling arena returns.

Matches include Dolph Ziggler and Cesaro battling it out for the Intercontinental Championship, a “Lifetime in the Making match” between the Bella twins.

John Cena and Randy Orton in a cage match for the dubious honour of facing the Beast for the WWE title and will Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins , the former faction favourites, finally settle their feud in the “Hell in a Cell”?

We review each epic match up one by one from this highly entertaining PPV.

“2 Our Of 3 Falls” Intercontinental Championship Match: Dolph Ziggler vs. Cesaro:

I actually really enjoyed this match, thrills, spills and chills shooting up my spine from the intensity and athleticism of these two guys going at it. Some fast moves, some killer blows and a wonderful opening start to the PPV.

“Loser Must Be The Winner’s Personal Assistant For 30 Days And If The Personal Assistant Does Not Comply, They Must Leave WWE”: Brie Bella vs. Nikki Bella

For such an explosive opening to be followed by this rather mundane match slightly ruined my appetite, we all love a bit of sibling rivalry but they looked scared of even hitting one another, more mouth than action this one. Quite a snooze fest in fact.

WWE Tag Team Championship Match: Goldust And Stardust vs. The Usos

Goldust and Stardust are really making a for themselves in the WWE Tag Team sector, kicking ass at every turn and bringing back the magic of old.

This match does not disappoint but still it feels as thou something is lacking from this PPV so far, we want cages, we want cages!

Hell In A Cell “The Winner Gets A Future WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match vs. Brock Lesnar”: John Cena vs. Randy Orton

Cages is exactly what we get as the hell in the cell cage is lowered for these two Heavyweights to battle it out, this match feels like a headlining match, there is so much action, mouth dropping moments and a real feel of heart and determination as these guys put every drop of passion into this match to give the crowd a match to remember.

United States Championship Match: Sheamus vs. The Miz

Forget the match, the best bits feature after the bell has rung with a hilariously funny puppet master routine that Sheamus acts out with The Miz. Worth watching for the ending alone just fast forward the boring match first!

Big Show vs. Rusev

These two giants battle it out but never really seem to get out of the starting blocks. Both guys are so big that it is like watching two elephants fighting in the ring. Not the best match up by any mean feat.

Big Show deserves better match ups than this he has the athleticism of someone half his size but Rusev’s lack of speed and agility drags Big Show down to his poor mediocre level.

Divas Championship Match: AJ Lee vs Paige

Everyone loves a Diva’s match, even the referee in this one! You can hear the ref screaming out orders like never before, he seems to be more excited than the crowd that he is in the ring with two and the hottest WWE superstars.

The match does have it’s highlights but too much messing around outside of the ring spoils the match up for me.

Hell In A Cell Match: Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins

Probably one of the best Hell in the Cell matches I have watched in recent years, the fight starts on top of the cage and finishes through some broken tables and chairs. Dean Ambrose goes completely nuts as per usual and his energy really drives the crowd.

An amazing match to watch but with an ending that no matter how cool, spoilt what could of been one of the best Hell in a Cell matches for half a decade.
