Glitter and anxiety comes in large doses during the awards season. Humour less so, which is where The Hollywood Parody Awards step in.  This event, like the Oscars, is about filmmaking and consists of a panel of judges, voting members and a glitzy awards ceremony. Except the films are spoofs that have been made in three weeks during the time between the Oscar nominations announcement and the Academy Awards show by small, randomly-selected teams. After the Oscars are announced, participants have just three weeks to make a short parody of the films, which are played to a live audience of guests and celebrity judges at the awards ceremony. This is a time for celebrity judges and attendees to let their hair down and have a good old-fashioned giggle. The celebrity judges decide on, and present the awards, which are in keeping with true British humour.
