Halloween may be over, and Christmas more than a month away, but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy some awesome holiday viewing right now. So grab a bowl of popcorn and let’s go!

Christmas Classics on Netflix

Ready to start spreading some holiday cheer? Here are six all-time classic Christmas movies airing (or soon-to-be airing) on Netflix US.

1. White Christmas (1954)

A holiday extravaganza for the entire family. The song-and-dance team of Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye team up with a sister act (Rosemary Clooney and Vera Ellen) to stage a Christmas performance that will hopefully save a failing Vermont inn.

2. Scrooged (1988)

Bill Murray stars in this modern comedic take on A Christmas Carol. In this version, a greedy, over-the-top cynical TV exec has the Dickens scared out of him by three ghosts. Also starring Karen Allen and Carol Kane.

3. Santa Claws (2014)

Santa is allergic to cats, so he has a policy against handing them out as gifts. But all little Tommy wants is one small kitten, and he has been so good that Santa can’t refuse. When the whole litter sneaks into Santa’s sack, causing a major allergic reaction, the kittens are forced to take over and deliver the presents themselves.

4. Get Santa (2014)

A father and son discover that Santa is sleeping in their garage. Santa has crashed his sleigh and now finds himself on the run from the police. Can our heroes help Santa and save Christmas?

5. Saving Santa (2013)

In this animated future classic featuring the voices of Martin Freeman and Tim Curry, hijinks ensue when an error-prone elf discovers that Santa has a time machine built into his sleigh. When Very Naughty People try to invade the North Pole, our hero must use the secret of the sleigh to stop them.

6. The Christmas Card (2006)

A Christmas romance set in WWII. An American soldier finds love and the Christmas spirit while visiting the town from which an inspirational Christmas card was sent to him by a church group. Starring Alice Evans and Ed Asner.

What About Halloween?

Netflix just ended their big Halloween extravaganza, so the following titles may no longer be available until next year. But at the time of this writing, the classics below were available in at least one format.

7. Casper (1995)

This live-action film based on the classic cartoon about a friendly ghost is spooky fun for the entire family. A ghost hunter and his daughter stay in a haunted house inhabited by a friendly ghost…and three mischievous ones. Starring Christina Ricci.

8. Scooby Doo 2

Monsters Unleashed (2004): This full-length live-action version of the classic cartoon stars Freddie Prinze, Jr. and Sarah Michelle Gellar. An anonymous villain is recreating the classic monsters once brought down by Scooby and the Gang, and unleashing them on Coolsville. Adults may enjoy the flashback, but be aware that this one contains rude humor and some strong language.

9. Men In Black (1997)

While not strictly a Halloween movie, this classic comedy starring Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones has the thrills, chills, and creepy-crawly monsters to get you into the Halloween mood.

10. Scary Movie (2000)

This raucous comedy send-up of horror movie tropes is a scream. It’s definitely not for kids, though.

Holiday films aren’t just for the holidays. You can enjoy them right now!
